OK Boys!

I won't be around this week as you all know, but I'm stil interested in what's going on Sunday. And I want PICTURES!!!

I also want your opinion on something completely un-moped-related. We have started a full Toronto Roller Derby League and spilt the Toronto Terrors into 4 teams. Myself and my friend Kris are captain & co-captain of one of them, and we're having trouble deciding on a name. So far the major contenders are (with a pirate theme) Chicks Ahoy! Bitches that don't crumble! and (with a Bob & Doug MacKenzie theme) Hogtown Hosers (and we'd all wear hockey jerseys with pictures of ourselves on them!!). But there are a million names we're throwing around. Comments? Suggestions? Whole new ideas? Post 'em here, I'd love to hear them.

So I'll be thinking of y'all on Sunday, the weather's supposed to be great, have an awesome ride. Here's to hoping I don't get ridiculous and try to ship back some wicked ass British mopeds:)

Buttons?

Question for you guys? I think we need buttons. Our logo is killer. And my friend Kat makes buttons at very reasonable prices. Shall I ask her for a quote to make us up a bunch? I think our logo would look awesome on 1" buttons. She just made some for our roller derby team and they're wicked.

Successful Wrench Day!

The 1st RCMP wrenching day was a huge success. We had lots of bikes and it was really fun.

Here's some of the bikes that came out.

The Jawa that I've had sitting in my house all winter after it sat outside getting snowed on for years.

When we finally unclogged the petcock this is the nastiness that came spurting out of the tank. It's about 8 years worth of old gas, rain and dead bugs. Pretty gross. Darcy, Bill and Brent got it running though and it's actually running really, really well!

Julie and Zak's uber cute matching orange Mobys. (and Ilya working on his Sachs).

All in all it was loads of fun and I'm glad we did it. Super huge thanks to everyone that helped out with my Jawa, especially Darcy. And I can't wait until we do this again (still don't know what's wrong with the stupid HS50..............hint, hint!). I love having a moped club. It's seriously, like, the best thing ever.

The RCMP will have a wrench day on Sunday, April 9th. Anyone is welcome to bring their peds and work on them.

Please feel free to show up any time after 3pm, but please don't come earlier than that. Here's a map.

See you all Sunday!

The Quest for Fire Ride!!

Well, the 1st official RCMP ride of the season is over! Named the Quest for Fire ride, it was awesome. We had a great turnout, a few regulars were missing but we had a lot of new faces and a lot of fun. A few minor (?!) setbacks as always, but all in all a great day.

We started off at Squirly's as always; here's the infamous David Coates in his uber-suave pose.

Great turnout!

Then, the problems started!!

Ahh, there's the problem!

So, what's the solution?

Image hosting by Photobucket

Fire in the middle of High Park is the solution!!

So we stole a little fire from a family and scared them off.

Then we wait.

My new love, David's Grande.

After a little fire dance, all the crap seemed burned out of Ilya's pipe.

A picnic table served as a nice workbench.

And then we rode a bit more and went home. Poor Ilya's bike messed up again on the way home, so we reconvened at my house and then we all went on our merry way.

WRENCH DAY NEXT SUNDAY!!!
